in this article, I will tell you about historical NFTs, the Counterparty (XCP) platform and the XCPinata collection of assets created in 2015.
I think the most important criterion when valuing collection items will be the release date of NFT. The older an NFT is, the higher its collection value will be.
New collection items will continue to emerge and at some point there will be more supply than demand in collections. After this point, people will now show interest in old collections that are difficult to reach instead of valuing new collections.
Counterparty (XCP)
Announced in January 2014, Counterparty is based on the Bitcoin blockchain. It is a platform that enables the creation of smart contracts and NFT.
The table above shows that there are only 10 NFT projects between 2014 and 2016. In this period, the ''ERC721'' format had not been inveted on Ethereum yet. Therefore,te oldest NFTs are usually located on the Counterparty (XCP) platform on the Bitcoin blockchain.
XCPinata (2015)
XCPinata established on the Bitcoin blockchain is one of the oldest NFT collections created in 2015.
- The collection consist of a total of 24 unquie assets.
- Each asset has 10 to 300 editions.

The creator of XCPinata tried to create and sell digital 'characters' via email between 2009 and 2012. These digital characters used a format of evidence saved via email instead of a blockchain. The artist mentions on his web page that he was mocked for this attempt at that time.
When it comes to 2013, he organizes one of the first augmented reality exhibitions.
In 2015, he realizes that blockchain technology will enable 'Tokenization of Everything', including art. In order to be able to hide art in the blockchain, he contacts the creator of a project called 'bitcoin megaphone'. (Click here for a screenshot of the messaging between them.) With the help of the Bitcoin megaphone's creator, they succeed in creating tokenized assets. During this period, the artist begins to create tokens that represent his art, IP, people and more. The 24 assets in today's XCPinata project consist of assets selected from the tokenized works carried out at that time.

I think the most valuable pieces in the collection category will be the historical collections in this market, where I expect the number of players and liquidity to increase gradually. All of the old collections will be recognized by NFT collectors in the NFT collection culture that will occur over time.
Another advantage of historical NFTs is that they do not need a road map. Their mere existence will be sufficient for them to be accepted as a value.
Classic news sites don't mention old NFTs yet. There are no historical NFT categories in the secondary markets yet... We can be at a convenient time to collect quality collections between 2014 and 2020.
